A series of thefts over the past week ranged from a $50 bucket of scrap metal to an $8,000 motorcycle. From the police blotter:

-An Eleven O'Clock Road resident went to police Tuesday to report his cable box had been stolen. He said construction crews were at his home while he was away from May 28 to June 2, and the box was missing when he returned. Valued at $400, police said the box could be used by anyone because it was programmed.

-A Tunxis Hill Road resident reported $1,500 in cash had been taken from her car while it was parked at her home late Monday. In the morning, the driver's side window had been smashed, and the money and personal documents were gone. Police estimate it will cost $200 to replace the broken window.

-A Pine Creek Road man reported Wednesday morning that his maroon and gray 2008 Honda CBR 1000 RR motorcycle was stolen late Tuesday or early Wednesday. He last saw the vehicle in his driveway at 11 p.m. Tuesday night, and at 8 a.m. Wednesday it was gone. He estimated its value at $8,000.

-Thieves took two bicycles from a Newton Street home overnight between Aug. 26 and 27. Both are light blue and valued at $150. One was a Huffy mountain bike, and the other is a beach cruiser.

-A Romanock Road resident told police his tool shed was broken into Tuesday night. The shed's lock was broken, and a bucket of scrap copper valued at $50 was gone.

- A Fairfield resident reported his GPS system had been stolen from his car between 8 and 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Edge Fitness Center on Commerce Drive. When he returned to his car, the driver's side window was broken and the GPS was missing. It is valued at $200.
